Man hospitalised after softball bat bashing

A man is in a critical condition after being attacked with a softball bat in Nelson early today.
A St John ambulance southern communication spokesman said two men were attacked with a softball bat in the Washington Valley suburb around 4.30am today.
He said one of the victims was a 19-year-old male but he did not know the other's age or gender.
They are both in Nelson Hospital.
