Survivor's latest victim Sierra Reed has defended her outbursts against controversial character "Coach", who she accused of repeatedly lying to the tribe and making up stories.

Reed, a fashion designer and model currently in New Zealand ahead of Fashion Week, was eliminated after a  tense couple of days in which she exposed fellow competitors Benjamin "Coach" Wade and Debra Beebe for attempting to reform an old alliance.

The 23-year-old told Stuff.co.nz she had had enough of Wade's lies and deliberately targeted him when she knew she would be eliminated.

"All of the world was waiting for someone to do it (and) he really deserved it," she said.

"He thought that he was the most honest true-blue person and he wasn't and I wanted people to know he wasn't and that he lied ... That's why I outed him, that's why I gave it to him and it felt damn good."

Despite the arguments that punctuated her last tribal council, Reed - who was cast in the show two weeks before filming started - said she left the game pleased with her performance.

"I got mine out there and so I walked away with a happy smile on my face. I knew that my work was done. I don't hold any grudges in this game. It was a sad moment for me going home because I was treated poorly but it was a great experience on the whole."

Wade - who's stories about his exploits were called into question by last week's evictee, Tyson Apostle - believed everything he said to be true, Reed said.

"He held the most straight face.  I think he really believes that all of his experiences happened, and I think he really believes that he didn't lie once in that game - until he watched it.

"I feel embarrassed for him (and) I feel embarrassed for his family."

Reed, who was regularly seen crying during her final days on the show as she pleaded with tribe mates to keep her in the game, said she was "treated like crap" before her elimination.

"You're trapped in this science experiment called Survivor and you have boundaries that you're not allowed to leave. You're trapped with these eight people who completely have it out for you and are plotting to kick you in the face.

"It really hurt my heart because I played this game and I invested real emotions with these people. That's what hurt the most because I had feelings for these people, and they turned on me."

She also responded to Apostle's criticisms that she was "whiney and annoying".

"Tyson is a really arrogant person. He doesn't have a lot of patience for females. I know that I'm not annoying and that I pulled my weight around camp. I know that what I did out there was my best.

"I know I was perceived on TV and around America as a good person and that's all that matters to me."

Survivor: Tocantins screens on TV3 every Thursday night at 7.30pm. Stuff.co.nz will interview every contestant after they are eliminated.

To Anna #22 Coaches story is true, he took a lie detector test.

I can't believe how far behind NZ is. I saw the final 2 months ago.

Chris #4 - I think you ask the same silly question every week don't you? Yes, people do still watch it & obviously like it. If you don't, then move on my friend & find something you're interested in.

Ella # 11 - it was definitely Erinn who voted for Stephen.

Anna   #22   03:31 pm Jul 25 2009

I think Erinn voted for Stephen because she didn't want to vote for Sierra, but didn't want to upset Coach or Debbie - she knew it was a throwaway vote that wouldn't count.

Such a stupid move voting off Sierra - she was no real threat so the intelligent thing to do would have been to vote off Debbie. I can't wait to see the reunion bit where they show Coach begging Sierra to join their alliance. Maybe he's schizophrenic or something - I think he really believes all the lies he tells, like being half killed by pygmies in the Amazon. Puhleeeese!

That's weird I could have sworn it was Taj who held up Stephen's name... Erinn I can understand she has less allegiance to anyone.

I liked Sierra she says it like it is - coach (roach) is so full of crap does he realise dragons are fictional?

Chris #4: Some of us are apparently interested enough in it to read about it on stuff.

Nice one, champ.

Actually if coach makes it to the final 2 then the other person will be a shoe in to win ,Ewwwww he is such a slimeball

richard   #17   11:33 am Jul 24 2009

the coach (the dragonslayer/renaissance man/honourable warrior) should stay simply because he makes for good tv. debbie though...despite her apparent good nature, she is a snake. and if you can't handle the drama and think you're too old then you have no place winning. that "talk to the hand" bollocks annoyed me - that's not playing the game, it's avoiding the facts. i hope she's next. taj and erin are flying under the radar.

I think Coach would have gone if he hadn't won immunity. Sierra was very unlucky, she did the right thing to expose Coach & Debbie. Left a legacy which will damage Coach & Debbie's chances. Go Sierra!

I think Erinn voted for Stephen because he sent her to Exile. Coach makes my skin crawl. I hope he gets what he deserves!
