This Privacy Policy applies to your use of the Stuff website www.stuff.co.nz. It applies to use by both visitors to the site and all customers who use any goods, products or services that we provide on or through the Site including when you register for My Stuff services such as emails; newsletters, updates and offers of products.
Non-Personal Information
When you use the Site our server, our agent's or contractor's server logs the following information, which is provided by your browser:
a) your server's IP address (a number which is unique to the machine through which you are connected to the Internet) or your personal IP address
b) the type of browser and operating system you are using
c) the domain name of the referring site (e.g. the previous Site that you visited).
The Server also logs:
a) the date and time of your visit
b) the URL address of the pages accessed and the documents downloaded.
This information does not personally identify you. For example we may collect data relating to activites on our websites via tracking technologies such as cookies. We analyse this non-personal information for certain trends and statistics, such as which parts of the Site users are visiting, which features or services are most popular and to measure the effectiveness of advertising. We do not disclose information about individuals except for the reasons set out below.
We also monitor interactions with our Site using third parties such as Nielson//Net Ratings Limited, Google Analytics and Adobe Limited to provide tracking and auditing services in respect of the Site. These parties may collect non -personal data relating to your activities on our websites on our behalf. Personal Information
There are times (such as when you register for My Stuff) when we may need personal information from you, such as your name, postal address or email address, fax and phone numbers. We may also collect demographic information such as your age, gender, preferences and interests. We do not collect sensitive information such as your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions or religious beliefs. You will be asked to supply that personal information voluntarily. This will enable us to provide you with the Services such as emails; newsletters; updates and offers of products that you have expressed an interest in.
You may decide not to provide information to us. However, if you do not provide it, we may not be able to provide our Services to you.
By providing us with your Login and Password and selecting the option to receive certain Services you consent to receive e-mails from us that relate to your My Stuff subscription and to the Services you choose (by express consent or otherwise). We may send you information based on the parts of the Site that you visit or the links that you click on. For the purposes of optimising the e-mails we may send you and tailoring those e-mails to your interests, we will also collect information about the topics/blogs/links that you click on, read about or choose to receive information about. You will have the option of opting out of receiving emails and other information at any time by using the one click option to 'unsubscribe' from the email newsletters.
Whenever we ask you to provide personal information we will ask whether you wish to receive correspondence and information from us, this will generally be by way of an 'opt-out' box that will appear each time you are asked to provide personal information for additional purposes. Please tick this 'opt-out' box if you do not wish your personal information to be used in this way. We will take all reasonable steps to allow you access to your personal information and we will correct personal information if we are satisfied that it is incorrect.
Where possible, information will be obtained directly from you, but otherwise it may be provided from others (with your consent), or generated within or by the systems used to provide our Services
Information collected by us may be combined with information obtained by our related companies ("related companies" has the meaning set out in section 2(3) of the Companies Act 1993).
You may ask to see any information we hold about you and we will provide it as long as we have such information and can readily retrieve it. You may also ask us to correct any information that we hold about you.
Use of your Personal Information
We will only use your personal information for the purpose for which you have provided it, unless you consent otherwise or we are required by law to disclose it. We do not sell, rent or lease our visitor or customer information to third parties. Your personal information will only be disclosed to those employees who have a need to know.
Where we receive information about your session or about you, we may use that information to conduct market research surveys, for statistical analysis to determine Site usage, to run competitions and for direct marketing purposes relating to our business, to tailor our Services to match your needs and improve the Site generally.

We may disclose information about you or your use of the Site and/or Services without your prior permission if we believe that such action is necessary to:
a) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process, or to help maintain the law
b) protect our rights or property or those of our related companies
c) enforce our Site Terms
d) act to protect the interests of our, or our related companies, customers or others.
Third Party Ad Servers
Some of our advertisers use third party companies to serve advertisements when you visit the Site. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites, including information gathered by cookies, in order to provide advertisements about goods and Services of interest to you. We do not control the practices of these companies and they may not follow the same privacy policies as us.

We encourage you to review the privacy statements of websites if you follow links from the Site to them, so that you can understand how those websites collect, use and share your information. We are not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on websites linked from the Site.
Changes to our Policy
We may, at our discretion, update or revise this Policy from time to time. Any changes will take effect immediately once they are posted on our Site. Your continued use of our Services after any changes have been posted on our Site signifies your acceptance of those changes.
