Everything The Hit List loves

Last updated 12:16 30/09/2009

ssIn a flurry of negativity, hatred and bad tempered vitriol, The Hit List last week honoured for one last time everything that was banned from these particular pages. That got a bit nasty, didn't it?

There was plenty of agreement from readers, especially when it came to bad bands. But comedian Sarah Silverman's ban caused a bit of a fuss, so I will jump on YouTube later today and decide if she joins Coldplay in the reprieve section of The Hit List. She will receive written confirmation.

Anyway, I'm in a better mood today so let's celebrate the good things in life. Here is Everything The Hit List Loves in one short, concise burst.

Loving it: Wayne Anderson, mullets, Star Wars - Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Lego, anything to do with Star Wars that isn't Episode I, II, III and Jar Jar Binks, Beyonce's Check On It, putting the mute on for Beyonce and Shakira's Beautiful Liar, Them Crooked Vultures, Pearl Jam, Weezer, Lil Wayne starring on Weezer's new album, Alice In Chains' new album, bacon, muffins, guinea pigs, kittens, the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm featuring the Seinfeld cast, Larry David, Seinfeld re-runs, the making of Ghostbusters 3, Muppets in Space, The Swedish chef, Monopoly, Risk, any board game that isn't Trivial Pursuit or Cluedo, Zack Galifianathingee, Zack Galifianathingee's beard, Liam Finn's beard, TV on the Radio singer Kyp Malone's beard, the guys in Mastodon with beards, Rick Rubin's beard, Rick Rubin in general, Seedy moustaches on bassists, Anna Paquin, DVD boxsets, True Blood, The Wire, Anchorman, Arrested Development, Entourage, Pulp Fiction, Family Guy, South Park, Robot Chicken, Seasons 1 and 2 of Battlestar Galactica, the episode of The Sopranos called Pine Barrens, eating McDonald's tomato sauce straight out of the packet, screaming: "Mayonnaise! MAYONNAISE!" at people, wrapping carpet around your feet when you lose your shoes, Fail Blog, Pitchfork, NME, Daylight Savings, tamarillos, lists, wallplanners, David Dallas, Q-Tip, Jody O'Lloyd, The Roots, Roots Manuva, Dizzee Rascal, Tourettes, Che Fu, PNC, Big Day Out 2010, Summer Heights High, Dave Chapelle, Stephen Merchent, Karl Pilkington, Stewie, Dwight K Shrute, The Office (UK), The Office (US), Gomez playing in October, Pearl Jam playing in November, Animal Collective playing in December, Them Crooked Vultures playing in January, Isis playing in February, The Pixies playing in March, The Powerstation, baggy tribesmen, Huffer, Federation, playing any instrument on Guitar Hero: World Tour except the drums, starting a vinyl collection with Tool's Lateralus, watching videos like this and thanking the lord I gave up skateboarding, and, finally, The Money Pit.

I'm with you on the mullets. Saw HLAH play in Welly a few weeks back and there were some of the sweetest mullets I have ever seen in the crowd. It was beautiful, I was in heaven.

I'm going to add Shameless to the list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shameless. UKTV 9.30pm Thur. Great British comedy (up to season 6 I think?) set in the slums of Manchester which tells the story of some pretty dysfunctional characters. Here's some snippets from the show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icLCTGwEfMI
