Think you're having a bad day?
Things not going so well for you today? Has your right mouse button stopped working, your left headphone speaker carked it and you're feeling slightly unbalanced and a little unhinged?
Well, relax. I've got some good news for you: Your day isn't going anywhere nearly as badly as the one that my workmate is having. He's just found out about the awesome weekend he's got ahead of him.
Come Friday and Saturday, Nick - he sits about four metres away from me and usually covers sport - will be doing two things I swore would never be mentioned in The Hit List again but have been given a short reprieve today just for this blog entry.
Take a deep breath and read slowly: NickelCreed. Or Creedleback. You decide.
On Friday, Nick will be interviewing none other than Scott Stapp, the man who sang those immortal words "Can you take me higher?" and several other versions of the same crap song with legendarily bad band Creed.
You know it's going to be a great interview when the guys organising it tell us they don't mind if we take a "tongue-in-cheek" angle. It's Creed - it's the only possible angle we can take.
Then, having had a mere 24 hours to recover from that, Nick will be preparing himself - how, I'm not quite sure - to cover Nickelback's show on Saturday night at Vector Arena in Auckland.
Why? Why has Nick agreed to do two things that no one else in the office, and possibly the country, would do? Why would he want to put his ears and eyes through immeasurable torture?
Because I've promised him a pass for AC/DC's Auckland show next year. Bogans eh? Is there nothing they won't do for their fix?

Poor Nick! When he's finished with that lot he can review his post traumatic stress syndrome for us.
haha that is amazing. well earplugs are going to be a must at their concert. good luck to him.... he is going to need it. P.s how does that band get away with charging $140 for a ticket? I just paid $97 for a ticket to Them Crooked Vultures, Possibly a million times better. mental
All that for AC/DC tickets?? Wow, what else can you get him to do if he'll stoop that low for AC/DC tix?
You might as well get him to mow your lawns, take your great Aunt daisy on a date and fix your car for a black t-shirt.
Creed and Nickelback arent thaaat bad, I think you're exaggerating there awfulness considerably. Dont get me wrong, they both have some songs that I absolutely detest (Arms wide open, Photograph) but I enjoyed Creeds first album when it came out and there a few songs on there I still like, and both bands have earned there popularity with at least semi-authentic semi-quality rock music. Here is a list of artists who in my opinion are much more deserving of ridicule:
50Cent, Good Charlotte, Linkin park, Anastacia, Mariah Carey, Basshunter, Finger Eleven, Usher, Jessica Simpson, Pussycat Dolls, Fallout Boy. Thats just to name a few
That is not worth an AC/DC ticket. You got a good deal out of that one Chris.
By the way, you NEED to get an interview with Clutch when they come down here (Kings Arms, Feb 17). Possibly the most under-rated hard rock band in the world. Seriously, go listen to their album Blast Tyrant and tell me I'm wrong.
Actually, scratch that, if you were to organise an interview with Clutch and let me do it, I would buy you a lot of beer.
That's the sickest thing i've heard in ages. Puke.

Nah, they deserve the ridicule... and I only agree with a few on your list.
HAHAHAH Chris that's the funniest post you've done for a long time. Its bad enough having to go to Nickelback for work (and ACDC tickets) but what kind of munter actually pays 140 bucks to see The Chad, the ugliest man in rock in the most mediocre band ever?
