Best links of the week

Last updated 09:37 20/11/2009

r brand1. Rove quietly quits: Wow, that was a surprise. Bye bye Rove and please come to New Zealand to do more standup shows. It was the funniest two hours of my life. **sniff**

2. Trailer: Despicable Me: The second trailer for this animated supervillian comedy romp, starring none other than Jemaine Clement. Well, his voice is in it anyway. Due September 16.

3. Weird Al Yankovic explains Auto-Tune: I think I'm going to get my voice box permanently altered to Auto-Tune. How cool would that be?

4. Potions - Puscifer: From a new EP, this single features none other than Trent Reznor and Maynard James Keenan. It's supposedly an oldie, but it's a goodie.

5. Paradise City - Slash, Cypress Hill and, er, Fergie: Ow, my ears. Make it stop. MAKE IT STOP NOW!

6. Star Trek bloopers: All the stuff ups from JJ Abrams's recent reboot. Surprisingly funny for a non-Trekkie like me.

7. Trailer: The Carter: Apparently Lil Wayne drinks too much cough syrup. Who knew?

8. In the Flowers - Animal Collective: If you like this trippy new video from one of the year's best breakthrough acts, then make sure you're at The Powerstation in Auckland on December 8.

9. Heaven Can Wait - Charlotte Gainsbourg and Beck: Okay, this is the trippiest two-minutes-forty-seconds of your week.

10. Video Phone - Lady Gaga and Beyonce: The pop princesses team up for this hot new single featuring creepy camera head people. Bet they take good photos.

11. Must Be Santa - Bob Dylan: Is he trying to ruin Christmas?

I guess failign in America hit him hard - his show had been going down hill for the past 3 or 4 years anyway.

Confession time:

I never found Rove funny nor any of his regulars.

The Beyonce video freaks me out but yet I'm still strangely attracted to Lady Gaga, more so after watching her latest vid:

Betcha watch it to the end....

Paradise City wasn't flash but it was a damn site better than that embarrassment of an album Axl put out. I think this is just Slash and some mates having a bit of fun on an old GNR track. Just don't see why they had to record it though.

Rove sucked. I saw a clip from the first season and it was atrocious. No wonder it got canned by the original network. It got kinda funny when they got actual writers in but has been dwindling for a while now. At least he wasn't forced off the air.

Dylan is just having laugh, nothing to get your knickers in a twist about. Anyway, sub-par festive music is a Christmas institution.
