Best links of the week

Last updated 12:38 29/01/2010

fr1. Fever Ray acceptance Speech: There's Halle Berry. Then there's Gwyneth Paltrow. But here's the weirdest yet, as the singer accepts an award at the Swedish version of the Grammys in Gothenburg sporting a strange mask and a creepy croak.

2. Solar Midnight - Lupe Fiasco: Great new track from the thinking man's Kanye West, taken from the expanded Twilight soundtrack. Perhaps rap-rock isn't dead after all.

3. Dancing inmates: Well, they've got nothing better to do with their time, have they?

4. Trailer: The Karate Kid: It's basically just one big montage. Always gotta fade out in a montage. This remake of the kid's classic is due out later this year.

5. The High Road - Broken Bells: The first video for the first single from DJ Dangermouse and The Shins' Brian Mercer's new band. The album leaked a couple of weeks ago, if you know where to look.

6. Trailer: The Bounty Hunter: The reason Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler hooked up at the Golden Globes was this rom-com. Hey, it worked for Brad and Ange.

7. Avatar makeup: How to look like a Na'vi, in 10 seconds.

8. Trailer: Frozen: In which three kids get stuck on a ski-lift. The plot's about as barren as the icy wasteland it's set in. Due out later this year.

9. Skeletons - Yeah Yeah Yeahs: It only took them a year to make it, but here's the black-and-white video for It's Blitz's superior ballad. Pack some tissues.

10. Survivor: Heroes vs Villains: So I've become a bit of a Survivor fan over the past few years. Interviewing every contestant for five seasons does that. But the 20th anniversary season looks likely to be the best yet. Here's Jeff Probst previewing each of the show's 20 characters.

11. Trailer: Season of the Witch: Nicolas Cage in another hokum supernatural thriller, this one about witches. Hasn't he got something better to do with his time than make movies?

12. Free Bird - Conan O'Brien: Bye Conan, you went out with a bang, not a whimper. Watch this one quick cos YouTube keeps taking it down.

@ Alexander (julliano) Welcome to stuff!! You'll be tearing your hair out, after reading peoples comments, in no time!! HAHAHA!

Chris have you checked out the literal songs on YT yet? They're pretty old but hilarious!! Type in Arms Wide Open Literal and you'll find it ...

@ Vim Fuego - the literal songs can be hilarious, although some are a little crappy. I loved the literal version of "Penny Lane" though, and "Careless Whisper" was good too. Oh, and "Under The Bridge".

@davo - the literal version to Total eclipse of the heart is hilarious if you can stand listening to that tune the entire time...
