Christchurch's SLI Systems is named alongside the likes of Google, IBM and Xerox in a United States-based trade magazine's list of 100 "companies that matter".

The website search technology developer is the only New Zealand company to feature on the list.

KMWorld magazine has 50,000 subscribers, mostly in the US, where SLI does much of its business. It is the main magazine in the knowledge management arena and features solutions for improving business performance.

The list, which recognises companies that show commitment to customer service and production innovation, was compiled by KMWorld editorial staff.

SLI marketing vice-president and co-founder Geoff Brash said it was pleasing to be selected and he expected it would help the firm gain customers in a sector where it already worked with the likes of Symantec, the New England Journal of Medicine, Qantas Airlines and the Christchurch City Council.

KMWorld praised SLI's adaptability and innovation in finding creative solutions to customers' search challenges.
