A road is closed in the Coromandel after a crashed car caught on fire, injuring the driver.
Police say the road closure is place on State Highway 25 near the Kopu Bridge.
"Diversions are in place at the intersection of State Highway 25 and Hauraki Road on the western side of the bridge and at the roundabout on SH25 in Kopu, on the eastern side."
Police, fire and ambulance attended the crash between two vehicles, each of which contained a sole occupant.
"One of the vehicles involved in the incident caught fire and as a result the driver has suffered significant injuries," police said.
The man has been taken to Thames Hospital.
The road is expected to be closed until about midnight.
