Motorists are facing long delays on Auckland's South Western Motorway this morning after a crash blocked one of the lanes.
The NZ Transport Agency said at 9.00am northbound traffic was backed up as far Puhinui Road due to the crash at Walmsley Road.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area if possible, or to delay their trip.
The NZ Transport Agency said at 8.30am that there were moderate delays northbound on the motorway, following the crash near the merger with State Highway 20A.
Traffic was backed up as far as Massey Road.
The agency said motorists travelling in to Auckland city from the airport should detour through Manukau.
