Kites in Auckland
COLOURFUL: A large crowd takes part in the Manu Aute Kite Day at Takaparawha Reserve, in Orakei Auckland.

Dinosaurs and animals floated in the sky over Orakei today as hundreds gathered for Auckland's annual kite-flying event.

The Manu Aute Kite Day drew a collection of different kites from small shapes to elaborately decorated designs.

Kiting enthusiasts and casual observers joined in kite workshops, as well as weaving and craft and food stalls at Takaparawha Reserve.
