A road is blocked off after a truck hit a power pole and broke it in half this morning.
The Fire Service was called at about 10.30am to Sanders Ave in Takapuna on Auckland's North Shore.
Takapuna senior station officer John Sweeney said a truck carrying rocks and cement tried to turn into the driveway and took out the pole.
''It's quite fortunate there's no wind today too, that could have caused a bit of an extra problem.''
Sweeney said the driver was not injured.
''He was just shaken up. He reckons he shouldn't have come to work today and I'd probably agree on that one.''
A section of the road is cordoned off and firefighters are making sure the scene is safe while they wait for Vector to arrive.
