Winter hits 10,000th Starbucks
A man called Winter ordered a coffee on Auckland’s Karangahape Road – and claimed it was his 10,000th visit to a Starbucks cafe.
Winter, he says that is his full legal name, has spent 13 years drinking coffee at Starbucks.
New Zealand is his 23rd country.
He says finds it hard to believe that he could have got to 10,000 Starbucks.
“Life is funny that way, I would never have believed I would get old, fat, ugly and never again be able to get a date,” he said.
Winter, 38, went to a Starbucks in Symonds Street to tell them they where the 9,999th Starbuck he had visited.
It is, perhaps, no surprise that he is a computer programmer.
With a website and video to mark his franchise adventures, Winter says he just wanted to do "something unique".
He also has ideas for solving global problems and passes that on with the coffee.
