Police are investigating a death at a house in South Auckland today.
Forensic teams were this afternoon inspecting a house in Cornwall St, Papatoetoe, but police are staying tight-lipped about the causes and circumstances of the death.
Inspector Matt Sillars would not specify the age or sex of the person who had been found.
Police were notified of the death at 2.30pm but Inspector Sillars said it was still too soon to say whether it would be treated as suspicious.
A neighbour, who did not want to be named, said the area was normally very quiet.
However, she said there had been an unusually high number of police officers patrolling the street in the past few weeks.
"It's all been a bit weird," she said.
The people at the property had been there three or four months but she had never seen them.
When the police arrived this afternoon she said she saw two men asked to move their cars from beside the property.
One man was allowed to go but she said another was taken away by police.
