A middle-aged woman has been found dead on the grounds of the North Shore AUT University campus.
Her body was found by students today close to a gym on the campus.
Auckland police were notified of the discovery at 1.20pm and after the initial stages of their investigation they have confirmed they are not currently treating the death as suspicious.
Northern Communications Inspector Daniel Meade said police were trying to establish the identity of the woman, and were hopeful a formal identification would be confirmed in the coming hours.
Meade said police are now liaising with people they believe to be family members of the deceased, and it is likely a formal identification will be carried out later this evening.
