Police cordoned the Bounce and Beyond playground facility where a child was seriously injured on Wednesday afternoon.

The boy who was injured in an incident at an inflatable playground facility in south Auckland is home from hospital.

The 4-year-old was taken to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition on Wednesday afternoon, after he hurt himself while playing at Bounce and Beyond in East Tamaki.

A statement released by Bounce and Beyond on Thursday said the boy was now back at home with his family.

Earlier on Thursday the company said police had concluded their investigation but Worksafe was still investigating.

"We, as a family friendly environment, have always strived to operate and maintain a safe and clean environment for visiting families," the company said.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the concerned family in wishing a speedily recovery of the young child concerned."

Police and emergency services were called to the facility at 12.20pm on Wednesday and police taped off the entrance.

Bounce and Beyond will reopen on Friday.
