Auckland gym manager charged with indecent assault

Gym manager Keiron Moore appeared in the Auckland District Court on Thursday.

The manager of an Auckland gym which promotes women's self-defence classes has been charged with five counts of indecent assault.

Keiron​ Moore, 45, who manages The Fitness Club in Ellerslie, was charged with indecently assaulting four women between May 2015 and December 2016.  

Detective Sergeant Nick Poland said the offending occurred in a gym. 

"Police have laid charges against a man in Auckland, following a number of incidents which occurred at a gym," he said. 

Moore appeared in the Auckland District Court on Thursday, but did not enter a plea. 

He manages The Fitness Club, where he also works as a personal trainer. On his Facebook page he promotes self defence classes to help women ward off attackers. 

He declined to comment when approached. 

According to the gym's website, Moore has been in the fitness industry for more than 12 years, and is a qualified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. 

His next appearance will be in the Auckland District Court next month.
