Further arrests made after violent south Auckland robbery

Four men wanted after a Mangere dairy was robbed, on Tuesday evening, have been arrested.

Four people have been arrested in relation to a violent south Auckland superette robbery.

Police said, on Friday, they had arrested a 15, 17, 18 and 20-year-old, for a robbery labelled as "absolutely abhorrent" by officers investigating the incident.

Detective Inspector Fa'amanuia Va'aelua said the men would appear in the Manukau District Court on Friday morning.

CCTV footage showed four men barging into Kingsford Superette, in Mangere, on Tuesday evening.

A 20-year-old worker was bagging stock when the men entered the shop, thumped him in the back of the head, beat him up and left him in a pool of blood. They held a machete to his neck, drawing blood.

The owner of the superette, Kamaljit Singh, said he was shocked at the violent nature of the robbery.
