A man has been charged after allegedly flashing young women on Auckland trains.

Police say a man sat down near young women before indecently exposing himself on two occasions.

A 36-year-old Glen Eden man was arrested yesterday and charged with two acts of indecency.

Police Senior Sergeant David Hines said they reviewed train security footage before apprehending the man.

"We're really pleased that this man has been caught, and this should send a message to anyone else considering committing a crime on our rail network - you will be caught."

The Glen Eden man will appear at the Auckland District Court on Monday.

Police are targeting anti-social and criminal behaviour on the trains, including fare dodgers.

"We also often find the same people are coming into the city, committing property crime offences, and then training home again, our rail network is not going to be a vehicle for crime and criminals can expect to be apprehended."
