A hit-and-run death in Auckland two years ago has reached the High Court with a man facing a charge of murder and two women charges of accessories to murder.

Sitanilei Vailahi Haufano, 26, is accused of the murder of pedestrian Uilisuni Ofa, 30, early on 14 November 2012. Ofa was killed after being hit by a car on Great North Road, Waterview.

Quintellya Jeanette Eileen George and Betty Diploma Faaoa have been charged with being accessories to the murder.

All three pleaded not guilty in the High Court in Auckland.

After a jury of five women and seven men was selected, Justice Edwin Wylie told the court the Crown would open its case tomorrow.

The Crown is to call 36 witnesses, most of them police officers, in a trial expected to last three weeks.
