North Harbour’s answer to Sex and the City is here.

The new television series Go Girls by South Pacific Pictures is being produced in an Albany studio and scenes have already been shot at Albany, Takapuna Beach, Hurstmere Rd shops, Wairau Rd and Birkenhead wharf.

The TV2 primetime comedy-drama is described as a sexy, humorous and romantic look at the lives of 25-year-olds Amy, Britta and Cody in "quarter-life" crises.

Amy plans to get rich by the end of the year, Britta craves fame and Cody just wants to get married.

The story is told through the eyes of the girls’ best mate Kevin, who loves them more than anything but perhaps one more than the others.

He admires their ambition but reckons it will be a bit of an ask since the girls are poor, unknown and single.

The series stars Shortland Street’s Anna Hutchison as Amy and newcomers Alix Bushnell and Bronwyn Turei as Britta and Cody respectively.

The 13 one-hour episodes are written by Gavin Strawhan and Kate McDermott, produced by Chris Bailey and its directors include Katie Wolfe, Angela Bloomfield and Britta Johnstone. It has funding from NZ On Air and screens this year.
