Former Labour MP Ralph Kerr Maxwell has died aged 78.
The father of three represented the Waitakere electorate from 1978 to 1984 and held the Titirangi seat from 1984 to 1990 when he was defeated by National candidate Marie Hasler.
Mr Maxwell, MBE, also served as chairman of the Portage Licensing Trust and is survived by his wife, children and eight grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1pm tomorrow at the St Andrews Anglican Church in Pukekohe.
