Police are searching for a white ute involved in a high-speed pursuit on the North Shore on Saturday morning.
They were called to a Glenfield address to investigate a theft in progress.
Police gave chase after the suspect fled in the ute and rammed the police car three times.
The pursuit continued from Glenfield to Lincoln Rd, Henderson, where an attempt to spike the vehicle was unsuccessful after the suspect swerved into oncoming traffic.
The chase was abandoned after the suspect hit another vehicle. No-one was injured.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, possibly in his 30s or early 40s.
The four-door ute is white, and it is described as being similar to a Toyota Hi-Lux or a Mitsubishi L200/Triton with a false number plate.
It has a fibreglass canopy on the back and large black-rimmed wheels. There is sign-writing on the doors and an orange flashing light on the roof.
Police believe the ute may be a stolen contractor's vehicle or it may have been on loan to a staff member over the weekend.
