Eight people have been injured in a crash involving a car, bus and power pole in east Auckland as crashes throughout the city cause traffic snarl ups this morning.
Police, fire and ambulance were called to the crash involving a car, bus and power pole on St Johns Rd in the eastern suburb of St Johns about 7.30am.
A St John ambulance spokesman said they treated eight people on the scene, mostly suffering minor injuries, with one person taken to Auckland City Hospital for further treatment.
A five-car crash on the Waipuna Bridge on the Pakuranga Highway between Ti Rakau Dr and the South Eastern Highway is causing "major delays", a police spokesman said.
Police were first notified of the crash at 7.10am but heavy traffic delayed help getting to the scene, he said.
It is not yet known whether anyone had been injured in either of the accidents, the spokesman said.
Traffic was also being affected on Kinross Ave in Blockhouse Bay after a car crashed into a parked vehicle.
Motorists were also dealing with a backlog of traffic following a breakdown on SH20 between Onehunga and Mangere and an abandoned car on the south-bound motorway on-ramp at Queenstown Rd was partially blocking traffic as of 7.40am.
