Fall duo both stable in hospital
Two men who fell from central Auckland high-rise buildings in separate incidents during the same week are both in a stable condition in hospital.
A young man is lucky to be alive after he fell from an All Seasons Hotel balcony on July 20.
Hotel manager Caz Vance told the Herald on Sunday the man fell from the 16th floor to the neighbouring roof 12 floors below.
A police spokesman confirmed emergency services attended the incident around 11pm.
The man was taken to hospital in a critical condition but was today upgraded to stable.
On July 16 construction worker Jarrod Monkley, 16, fell from the 12th floor to the sixth floor of AUT's new Design and Creative Technologies building on Mayoral Dr.
A Fletcher Construction spokesman said police had told the company the accident wasn't "suspicious" and they were satisfied workplace practices at the site were safe.
Monkley remains in a stable condition.
