Three teenagers have been arrested after trying to rob a South Auckland liquor store with a knife.
A police spokeswoman said the trio - two males and a female - entered a liquor store on the corner of Kolmar Rd and St George St about 10.20am on Friday.
She said a male allegedly threatened the shop assistant with a knife while the other two allegedly stole alcohol.
The spokeswoman said a bit of a "stand-off" then happened between the store owner and the teenagers before he chased them down the road.
The trio, two youth offenders and a 17-year-old, were later located and arrested.
