Alleged sex offender hands in passport
A Brazilian man has been forced to surrender his passport while he awaits his next court appearance on a charge of sexually assaulting two women – one aged just 16.
In the Auckland District Court today, Roberto de Lima was charged with two counts of indecently assaulting a woman in March.
He also faced charges of indecently assaulting a 16-year-old, sexual violation by unlawful sexual connection and rape after an incident on April 7.
The 32-year-old was bailed to a Lynfield address on the condition he does not associate with the two complainants or the four witnesses and was asked to relinquish his passport.
He will reappear in court on August 29.
