A drunk man who stopped at a Papakura petrol station for food early today was beaten up twice and robbed by two men.
A police spokeswoman said the 22-year-old went to the Z petrol station on Clevedon Rd, Papakura, about 3.20am and bought two pies and some chips before walking along the road towards the township.
"Two males have then shouted, 'Bloods we're going to rob you' and briefly assaulted him before he got away," she said.
The victim went back to the petrol station and asked the attendant to call police but left before they arrived.
He "ran off" down Clevedon Rd, away from the township, where the spokeswoman said he was again attacked by the men.
The victim was kicked and stomped across his body and had his wedding ring, wallet, phone and watch stolen.
The spokeswoman said the victim was not seriously hurt and has given a statement to police.
Security footage is being sought from the petrol station and surrounding areas.
