A teenager has been charged following the gunpoint robbery of a West Auckland diary.
The 17-year-old is accused of entering the Heidi Dairy on West Coast Rd armed with a pistol on September 14 and demanding cash and cigarettes.
Kokila Patel and her husband said they feared for their lives during the incident.
They had bought the diary - because they couldn't afford a house - just one month earlier.
Last Thursday police searched a property in connection with the robbery, recovered an airgun and charged the teenager.
He has appeared in the Waitakere District Court and was bailed to reappear in the court on October 11.
