Gumboot gunman robs dairy

Two shop assistants were subjected to a terrifying ordeal by a gunman wearing gumboots.

Around 4.15pm on Saturday a man armed with a rifle or sawn-off single gage shotgun threatened the shopkeepers and demanded money at the Coronation Superette in Glenfield.  

Police said the offender was given a small sum of cash before fleeing on foot. 

He was last seen running east down Coronation Rd.

The gunman was described as being of average height and medium build and was wearing gumboots, blue jeans and a black hooded top. He also wore a cap and a white cloth over his nose and mouth. The gun had a white homemade sling attached.
