Gold and cars seized in drug raid

More than $50,000 worth of gold was among booty held in a central Auckland drug pad.

The kilogram of gold, worth $66,000 was among items seized in drugs raids across 11 Auckland properties yesterday. 

Six men were arrested and were due to appear in Waitakere District Court today following the bust which also netted half a million dollars, five cars and four kilograms of methamphetamine and its pre-cursor pseudoephedrine.

The raids were sparked by a P lab explosion in last year.    

Acting Detective Inspector Stan Brown said the operation would reduce the supply of methamphetamine in Auckland.

"We will minimise the harm from organised crime and drugs at every opportunity," he said.

Two of the men, who were arrested at Sylvia Park yesterday, were charged with possession for supply of a class B drug.

The other four, aged between 20 and 30, were arrested on Auckland's Dominion Rd and charged with supplying a class B drug and manufacturing methamphetamine.

Police raided 11 addresses in the bust.

oldie said a large amount of cash and property, including cars, were seized during the bust.

She said the investigation was ongoing and further arrests were possible.
