Comedian Mike King admits driving charge
Comedian Mike King was sentenced to 200 hours community service this morning for driving while disqualified.
King, 50, lost his licence because of excess demerit points in April last year but was granted a limited licence that allowed him to travel at certain times.
Two months later he was caught by police while riding a Harley Davidson motorbike outside the hours allowed, which was not the nominated vehicle on the limited licence.
In August 2011 he pleaded not guilty to the charge of driving while suspended but today at Auckland District Court - more than a year later - he pleaded guilty to an amended charge of driving contrary to the terms of a limited licence.
