Cliff fall victim flown to hospital
A 50-year-old man suffered critical injuries when he fell from a cliff on Auckland's North Shore late last night.
The Westpac rescue helicopter was called to Castor Bay at 10.25pm, along with police and ambulance crews.
The man was flown to Auckland City Hospital for treatment.
Paramedics said he was in a serious condition when he arrived at hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear.
Last night's incident comes after two deaths at North Shore cliffs last year.
A 20-year-old man died after falling from a Mairangi Bay cliff in October 2011.
Three months earlier, North Shore woman Inna Rudyy-Collie, 44, was killed by falling rocks below a cliff in Rothesay Bay.
