Journalist breaks down over Cameron loss
A TV3 journalist was reduced to tears during a radio interview in the wake of Shane Cameron's loss on Wednesday.
Sports Tonight host Howard Dobson broke down during an interview with Radio Live Sport hosts Ian Smith and Nathan Rarere just hours after Cameron was beaten by Danny Green in the IBO work cruiserweight fight.
"He's just a staggering chap ... he's done New Zealand proud," said Dobson, choking back the tears.
"He wants to carry on, right now he just needs to recover ... But he'll be back, he'll be back."
"His father said he let nobody down and they love him ... and it's just staggering what happened."
Today, Dobson stood by his reaction.
"The old saying that big boys don't cry, well I can tell you that's not true."
