An Auckland man has captured the magic of Christmas during a visit to the city's most festive street.
Gareth Cooke, owner of visual media company Subzero, took his family to visit the Franklin Rd lights and was impressed with the spectacle residents and businesses had created.
"We took the kids up there the other night. It's a great show they put on up there."
He and his partner filmed in the street for a couple of hours, capturing children, carol singers and the bright, animated displays.
Franklin Rd is part of Auckland's Christmas trail which winds its way past the Telecom Christmas tree in Victoria Park to a giant advent calendar at Wynyard Quarter.
The attraction, will celebrates its 20th birthday this year, draws thousands of onlookers each December from all around the city.
The lights will be on display until Christmas Day.
