Auckland malls are experiencing high volumes but it's the car parking causing the headaches this Boxing Day.
Bargain hunters at St Lukes and Sylvia Park report the malls are busy but it is the reported waits of up to an hour to find a car park that has attracted the most criticism.
Twitter user Wesley_Nikes said "st lukes aint pakd bt mega traffic. Yea im off hme afta this. Throwing in the towel lol".
Tweeter Daniel Martin was eloquent: "The actual apocalypse is currently occurring at St Luke's Westfield. The white hot epicentre of capitalism is reaching critical mass" while tweeter Jared Higher was more direct: "Avoid St Lukes".
Instagrammer Nockey posted a picture of the queue to get into Sylvia Park and said "F that! Next shopping mall lol".
Tweeter Fou agreed tweeting: "That moment you see the line to get into Sylvia Park. *Drives Home*", while Psygnal described the mall as the "7th circle of Hell".
"Far too many people. Sweltering. Queues for shops, toilets and car parks. Ick."
The chaos has not deterred people though with peecee65 tweeting: "Family hiking into Sylvia Park due to traffic and no trains running!"
A St Lukes customer services representative said the mall was busy, mainly with females trying to go to Kookai.
