An Auckland pub church has become so popular it will extend from monthly to weekly services.

Shore Vineyard Churches, which runs the service at Albany Sports Bar and Cafe, made headlines last August when it invited the public to have a beer with Jesus.

Services ran on the first Sunday of every month from 7pm for anyone over the age of 18.

But youth pastor Calvin Culverwell, who organises the services, said the service would now run every Sunday.

"It has been a pretty incredible six months, we have had all kinds of people come through the pub church and we are excited about the future," he said.

Culverwell was featured on Australia's most watched breakfast television show, Sunrise, and the story of the pub church also appeared on one Huffington Post.com and international Christian news websites.

More information is available on the Shore Vineyard Chruches website.
