Lawyer denies drink driving
An Auckland barrister who found himself on the wrong side of the law has denied a charge of drink driving.
Fijian-born Satendra Prakash Singh, 60, today pleaded not guilty at the Auckland District Court.
He was charged with careless driving with excess blood alcohol after police stopped him on Church St, Onehunga, in July.
Singh gave a reading of 144mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood - nearly twice the legal limit.
The barrister is representing himself on the charge.
He will re-appear in court on January 30.
