West Auckland house burnt to the ground
Firefighters needed 13 trucks to put out a blaze at a house in West Auckland overnight.
The vacant home on Red Hills Rd in Massey burned to the ground after catching fire some time around midnight, Fire Service northern communications shift manager Megan Ruru said.
Fire crews arrived at 12.10am to find the house completely alight. Ruru said it was likely a lack of water in the area that caused the need for so many trucks.
One crew remains at the scene this morning. No one was hurt in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by a fire safety officer.
