Four people who assaulted a taxi driver and stole money from him this morning were tracked by police dogs.
The attack in Judges Bay Rd, Parnell, was reported to police just before 6am.
Dog handlers arrived at the scene and police Inspector Kerry Watson said they found four people who were being interviewed this morning.
It was not known how badly the taxi driver was beaten but Watson understood it was not "top end".
It is unknown yet whether charges will be laid.
