Face of murder accused revealed
The face of a man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in her parents' sleepout can now be revealed.
Karl Eddy, 39, appeared in the Manukau District Court today charged with the murder of Alicia McCallion, 23, who was found dead by family members in the sleepout of their home in Papakura last month.
Previously, Eddy's image had to be pixelated but the court has ruled his face can now be shown.
Today in court police made an application to extend their time to provide written disclosure, which was granted.
Eddy's lawyer Marie Dyhrberg confirmed outside court that her client would be defending the charges.
Eddy was remanded in custody until March.
