No second series for The Ridges
TV3 says no plans for reality show season two
A second season of The Ridges is not set to grace New Zealand television screens any time soon.
TV3 spokeswoman Rachel Lorimer said there were no immediate plans to make another series of the show, but the company had "not ruled out" doing so in the future.
The reality series, which debuted last year, centered on the lives of former WAG Sally Ridge and her daughter Jaime.
Described as a "dark stain on Kiwi-made television", the show's ratings fell flat and had a pick-up for the finale.
Its debut episode drew in 325,130 viewers.
Ratings website Throng said ratings for The Ridges then took a dive, losing almost 80,000 viewers after that first week when it was the most watched show on TV3.
The final and sixth episode of The Ridges saw Jaime's gruelling training schedule finally come to a head when she fought fellow reality star, The GC's Rosanna Arkle, in a celebrity boxing match which was held back in July.
The Ridges was trending on Twitter by the late hours of the evening the episode screened.
After the first series, Lorimer said TV3 was "delighted" with how the show went.
