Person trapped in car, under power pole, in southwest Auckland

Emergency services are at the scene of a car v power pole crash in Waiuku, southwest Auckland.

One person is trapped after crashing into a power pole in Waiuku, southwest Auckland.

A Fire Service spokesman said the power pole had fallen across the car and that its driver could not be rescued until the power "had been isolated".

Counties Power was en route to the scene, he said.

"Once they've isolated the power we can get to work with our rescue equipment to extricate the person," he said.

The crash happened about 11.30pm in Glenbrook Beach Rd.

Police and paramedics were also at the scene.
