Aucklanders are encouraged to get rid of all their cyber-scrap in one go on e-day this month.
E-day, on September 12, is a free nationwide computer recycling event expected to divert more than 1000 tonnes of electronic waste from landfills.
This year’s Auckland collection will be held at the Wilson carpark on Fanshawe St from 9am to 3pm.
Central Auckland residents can take along and dispose of old PCs, computer peripherals, mobile phones and digital cameras.
Other equipment such as televisions and stereos will not be accepted.
National organiser and chairman of Computer Access New Zealand Laurence Zwimpfer says e-waste is the fastest growing and one of the most challenging waste problems in the world.
