Melbourne Cup at SkyCity centre

Whatever the weather this Melbourne Cup day, racing fans can catch all the action from the comfort of SkyCity’s convention centre.

SkyCity’s first Spring Racing Celebration will take place on Melbourne Cup day, November 3, and will show the racing on big screens while guests can sip champagne and nibble canapes.

Race-goers are also invited to dress to impress and win prizes of flights with Emirates airlines.

Entertainment will be provided by the Peter Urlich Band, Nathan Haines and DJ General Lee.

SkyCity marketing and events general manager Kevin Clayton expects a sell-out event.

"We’ve got the event covered, rain or shine and it’s right here in the CBD," he says.

The Spring Racing Celebration is on from 3.30pm to 7.30pm.
