For the first time in its history, Settling the Score is going live.
Radio New Zealand Concert's annual countdown of the nation's favourite pieces of classical music will reach its climax when the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and television personality John Campbell take to the stage at the Auckland Town Hall on November 15.
This is the 13th annual survey of the most popular classical music in the country.
Have the results changed since the first survey in 2000? Do tastes change, or do favourites last forever?
Radio New Zealand Concert's Roger Smith says this year's listener response has been amazing.
"We've had to sort through more than 2000 choices."
Settling the Score - Live! starts at 8am and goes through to 8pm on the radio.
At that point the show will cut to the Auckland Town Hall, where the APO will perform the most popular works, live. The orchestra will be conducted by Eckehard Stier.
Settling the Score - Live! is at the Auckland Town Hall at 8pm on November 15.
