An exhibition celebrating how New Zealand has changed the world through creativity and innovation opens at Silo Park on Friday.
World's Edge is a nod to Brian Sweeney's NZEDGE concept which is the idea that a disproportionately high number of New Zealanders have changed the world in some way through innovation.
The surreal images were taken with an iPhone by artist and curator Douglas Moores.
"I wanted to work both physically and conceptually right on the edge. I wanted to craft it by hand using only the tool I had at my disposal, my iPhone," Mr Moores says.
"I was taking inspiration from an old quote of Ernest Rutherford's: ‘We didn't have the money, so we had to think'."
A series of creative New Zealanders will give talks throughout the exhibition discussing what it means to be innovative.
The exhibition is open from 10am until late at Silo 6 and 7, Silo Park, 96 Jellicoe St from January 10 to 19. Entry is free.
