A theatre will be the setting for parents, carers and teachers wanting to learn how to help children with disorders such as Asperger's syndrome and dyslexia.
TAPAC will host monthly workshops ran by Mind Over Manner which use an interactive theatre approach to develop communication strategies to improve relationships and behavioural outcomes for young people who are often misunderstood.
The workshops are designed to help families and supporters of children with autism, attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), dyslexia, dyspraxia and Asperger's syndrome.
A trained facilitator will direct a hypothetical scenario shaped by input from the audience of families and supporters which is then played out by three actors.
The first two-hour workshop will run on Tuesday from 7-9pm at 100 Motions Rd, Western Springs. Tickets are $30 at the door.
