The robbery of an Onehunga business has lead to three men being arrested but two others are still being sought by police.

Three men entered the Trident Tavern at 10am on January 26, one of them carrying a firearm, and demanded cash.

Detective senior sergeant Gary Lendrum says they were seen leaving in a Nissan car driven by a fourth offender, which turned out to have been stolen from Botany Downs.

The car was found abandoned and some of the men got into a second vehicle that was later found by police in Manurewa, where two men were arrested and charged with the robbery.

They were also charged with robbing the Bellbird Inn in Manurewa and the
Hunters Inn in Papatoetoe in December.

Mr Lendrum says
those arrests led to the arrest of a third man in Hamilton the following day and he was also charged
with the three robberies.

He says an amount of cash was recovered but police are still looking for two other people believed to be involved.

Anyone with information can contact the Counties Manukau police on 261-1300 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
