Auckland is set for a week of sunshine, as a high lingers over the country.
MetService predicts the City of Sails will experience highs of 22 degrees Celsius through the week, peaking on Sunday with a high of 25C.
A MetService spokesman said the fine spell is a result of a high over the Tasman, which will build from the southwest tomorrow and Wednesday.
"The ridge of the high is going to dominate over the North Island, so there'll be fine weather," he said.
A cold front that had swept across the North Island is now heading south where it is expected to weaken, but still bring with it a few cold and wet day.
